NLS Subregional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped

Braille Audio and Reading Download (BARD)

BARD is a new program offered by the National Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.  This free program allows patrons to download talking books from an extensive collection of titles.

To use BARD, you must have a library account.  You must also obtain an account at the BARD website.  In addition, you must have a digital talking book player, a computer with Internet access, and a USB storage device if you are using a National Library Service digital machine.  Once you have an account, you can save the books to a storage device and play them on your digital talking book player.

If you have any questions, call the Library at 800-848-4722 and speak to Carol Fowler, Reader Advisor.
