Thirty acres of land have been cleared behind the Helen Keller School and the building process is scheduled to begin in March for the Joe Tom Armbrester Agriculture Center. This center will have pastures, crops, orchards and chickens which will be accessible to everyone from our three Talladega school campuses. The Ag Center will allow us to provide even more hands-on gardening and agriculture opportunities to our students. Funding to establish the center was given by an anonymous donor to honor the life of Joe Tom Armbrester, an avid local farmer and cattleman and late husband to ASD’s retired art teacher, Jan Armbrester. We look forward to the completion of this center.
