Vintage Racing Helmet is a Classic at Race Fever 2016
One-of-a-Kind Item for April 29 Auction!
Race Fever 2016 will feature a unique touch of vintage racing during the Live Auction event on Friday, April 29 during Talladega Race Weekend. A racing helmet displaying the authentic autographs of eight NASCAR legends – Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Red Farmer, Ray Fox, Buddy Baker, Benny Parsons, Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson – will be up for bid among 20 unique and one-of-a-kind items. The names on this helmet represent a group of championship drivers who helped create and build NASCAR notoriety among race fans.
The NASCAR family of drivers, teams and fans come together each year at Race Fever, an event begun in 1985 by Bill France, Jr., to benefit children and adults with hearing and vision loss at the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. Petty, Allison, Farmer, Parsons and more than 45 other drivers have supported the event and Ned Jarrett was master of ceremonies for Race Fever for many years.
The helmet was donated for this year’s event by the International Motorsports Hall of Fame where the event is held beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29 in the FOX Sports 1 Dome. This fast-paced event features an all-you-can-eat BBQ dinner by long-time supporter Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q., a massive Silent Auction filled with unique racing memorabilia and other great items, an incredible Live Auction with once-in-a-lifetime race experiences plus the chance to see and meet dozens of NASCAR Sprint Cup, NASCAR XFINITY and ARCA drivers! Darrell Waltrip will be back as MC and Steve Post from Motor Racing Network (MRN) will be on-hand to interview drivers live on-stage.
Early driver commitments include Ray Black, Jr., Jeffrey Earnhardt, Brendan Gaughan, Brandon Jones, Ross Chastain, Joey Gattina, Ryan Reed with more confirming daily! Check www.racefever.org for updates.
Event tickets are $50 or buy a table for 8 for $375. Tickets are available online at www.racefever.org or by calling (256) 761-3369.
